We went for a walk today, it's Sunday, the sun is shining, and it was beautiful.

The first picture is Hotel Chisinau, in downtown Chisinau, and we took the picture in the park nearby, and the front picture is Ron who looks like any man in Europe! He does not stand out in a crowd as an American. Posted by Picasa

Good News!

We have to tell you the most important news we have learned so far: WE ARE AIDS FREE!

Now that you are all relieved to know that our sinful past has not caught up with us, we have to tell you that we just finished the first part of our process for becoming legal residents. We have had to go through a series of medical tests to prove we will not hurt the society or put a financial drain on them. Thus the most important information possible is that we will not be deported in 24 hours, we do not have AIDS. I now know that my blood type is A+ (mom you wanna check that out?), and that I would rather never darken the door of a medical facility outside of the United States again.

That done, we are off the tons of embassy trips for other documents, US embassy, Moldovan department of external affairs. . . translators (all of our documents are in English of all things! Pray for this process to be completed in the next two months. Posted by Picasa

Sweden

Chuck and Cathy are blessed in Sweden. They have a beautiful home and they provided a blessed time for us. Being with them was like being in an oasis in the desert. Refreshing. Peaceful. Wonderful.

Thanks for hosting us!

The Odegaard's home is the middle one on the right side, the top one on the left side, the remainder are views from their yard. Posted by Picasa

Stockholm

We spent the day in Stockholm. We were amazed at the history of the city as well as the design. Stockholm has buildings that span more than one thousand years. It is a series of fourteen islands connected by forty-four bridges. Sometimes you don't realize when you have moved from one island to another, and other times the bridge is merely a wonderful place to get pictures that wouldn't be possible otherwise.

We are always amazed by old cities. And Stockholm is old. But mixed in with the ancient is the new, modern conveniences of 21st century life. It's a great city to visit!

However, we have to mention that we appear to do our touring in the coldest times of the year, so to say we froze to death would not be too much of an exageration! Posted by Picasa

Christmas

Hi to everyone from sunny Sweden! This is us in front of a castle in Orebro. Ron has gotten very, very good at taking a picture of the two of us with one hand!

So for Christmas, we have come to Sweden to spend some time with Chuck and Cathy Odegaard and their family! We had the best time! Valari, Slavic, Jonathan, and Emma were there from Ukraine. Their children are wonderful!

We thought we would go somewhere special for Christmas, since we couldn't spend it with our families, we needed to have "family" around us; and we got that!
