Mt Rainier

So, Ron and I went on a hike two weeks ago. It was a 2500 foot elevation gain in 3 miles. . . and we only went 1.5 miles before my wimpy legs said they might not even make it back much less forward. So we went for a drive looking for beautiful views of the mountains instead. Wild flowers and peaks.

if you went half way you probably still gained over 1,000 feet. and that's a lot, especially if you start at a higher elevation.

I camped a couple of week ago at the north rim of the grand canyon, 8,200 ft. At that altitude I lost my breath just bending down to tie my shoes!

And lets be honest, you are getting a little long in the tooth... :-)
